Cal, I don't know. There was also a William Campbell in the mix in Abbeville County; however, I do not know of the relationship, if any, between the Thomas Campbell, my Matthew Campbell, and the William Campbell. Age-wise, William and Matthew could be brothers and Thomas their father, but without proof, that is simply a working theory for now. Let me know if you want me to post the census data, or you could look in the archives for my earlier post (I think it was December 2005).
