Cecil: thank you for this tax list of 1787 Amherst Co., I have printed it to keep. My great grandfather John Campbell was born Sept 11, 1817 somewhere in Virginia. I don't know where in VA or his parents names, or any siblings, so he is a real brick wall for me. That is as far as I can go back, I have all the info on him after his marriage, so I am hoping someday lists like this will be very helpful to me.....I never quit hoping. Peggy
