Fellow researchers, Hello. I'm looking to connect with anyone researching Campbell lines in Abbeville County, South Carolina in the 1830 + timeframe. Specifically, I'm looking to share with anyone researching Thomas Campbell, Matthew Campbell or William Campbell from the 1830 and 1840 censuses of Abbeville County. Thomas Campbell who was enumerated in Abbeville County, South Carolina in the 1830 and 1840 censuses _may_ have been the Thomas Campbell enumerated in 1800, 1810, and 1820 censuses in Laurens County, South Carolina. This Thomas Campbell would have been born circa 1770-1780, based on his ages in the census records: 1830 (age 50-60)and 1840 (age 60-70). Thomas Campbell _may_ have been related to my husband's 2nd-great-grandfather, Matthew Campbell, as Mat Campbell was enumerated in the next household after Thos Campbell in the 1840 census for Abbeville County. Matthew Campbell was in Coweta County, Georgia for the 1850 census and died in Carroll County, Georgia in 1887. I believe Matthew Campbell was born circa 1812 in South Carolina and married Rebecca Edwards, daughter of David Edwards, of Abbeville County, per an Abbeville County Equity Court case. In the 1830 census for Abbeville County, the Thomas Campbell household is followed by the William Campbell household. I am looking to find anyone researching any of these Campbell lines to share information. Thanks to anyone who's read all of this, and I look forward to hearing from a new-to-me cousin!
