Patrick Campbell, married 11-3-1774 Amherst Co VA, marriage record states he is from Botetourt Co, VA. He married Ann WARE, d/o Edward Ware, Sr and Leticia Powell. Marriage witnesses were: James Ware and Ben Pilared. Edward Ware, Sr lived in the Western area of Amherst Co VA, in the Peddlar area, or Buffalo Creek area. Patrick Campbell bought land about 1750 in Augusta Co. and Rockbridge Co, VA. Patrick Campbell: filed a Will 4-8-1778, named brothers as James Campbell and John Campbell, his brother in law as James Weir (Ware), this Will was written 7-15-1777, it is at Will Book 1, page 1-20, Rockbridge Co VA. Patrick Campbell had a son named James Campbell who married Sarah SEAT. Some of this info came to me from Joe Ware, and Mr. Sandy Rowe and Bonnie Davis. According to the Campbell DNA project, there is a Patrick Campbell b. about 1735, of VA and KY. His DNA matches: Abraham Campbell of Russell Co VA, Fountain Campbell of Amherst Co VA, John Campbell and Grace Hay, called the "White David Line", and Lt. Col. Richard Campbell, m. Rebecca Hawkins. I do not know if the Patrick Campbell of Botetourt and Rockbridge Co VA is the same man as in the DNA test, maybe someone else can comment on that. Best regards, Lilly Martin
