Hi, I am trying to track down my 4 x great grandfather, John Campbell. I have tracked him down to the early 1800s in which his children were baptized at St. Andrews in Glasgow. He emigrated with his children and wife (Mary Lunny - born in Ireland??) in 1839 to Wisconsin. I estimated his birth to be 1770(?). Any suggestions would be great. I believe he lived with his family in Shotts in the later years before emigrating. His future son-in-law, Andrew Paton was from Shotts and they traveled on the same ship.
