My 4th great-grandfather was Charles Campbell-born between 1720-1730 and lived 107 years,we assumed he stayed in Northern Ireland. My line came to the U.S. in 1848 John and Patrick Campbell,John Campbell,Sr.'s sons. Then three other brothers Daniel.Felix, and James came too. All near same time. They settled Shawneetown in Southeast Illinois near the Ohio River, then around Enfield but mostly in Hamilton County around McLeansboro and Dahlgren,Illinois. James Campbell was murdered in 1877 and Daniel moved to Reno,Washoe County,Nevada after that. He died very old I was told not long ago. I have cousins I believe live in Sandpoint that are Campbells. But they are unaware of this connection. They don't do this kind of genealogy, and none of this bunch went to Wisconsin. Some went to Lexington,Michigan, Felix Campbell's son Felix Augustus moved to Jerome,Idaho and his son Dan P. was the one in Lexington,Michigan. John,Jr.'s son was General James Romulus Campbell from the Spanish-American War. His grandson died a couple of years back in Colorado.
