Good Morning, It has been a blustery morning here, says Winnie. Come in out of the storm. Now, I really don't know just what most of you are researching. However, have been contacted requesting information on the N. C. Campbells. (early) Since I do not have my records, was wondering if you folks are up to a dare? Or perhaps call it a barnstorming. Since preRev. time frame it appears that most of the Campbells in the area of VA.,N.C. and S.C. were somehow related. Are you folks willing to post what you happen to have on the Campbells of that area. Also post what books articals, etc. we might be able to find information on tlhese Campbells. What particular libr. have a good gen. section. (I can't go myself, but perhaps there are those of you that could) Now, since my memory is failing me, and I don't have my records, could I encourage one of you to become a cental contact point for a fun project. Would each of you post what you would like to find. There are so many new ones on line that never say boo. I would like to address you quiet ones, I know that some of you are shy, don't think that your input would be of value, etc. Well you are wrong, I for one would very much like to here what you have to say. Don't worry about how you compose the wording, even your spelling, not all of us are good spellers,, I would like to know what you have found on your Campbell family line and for what you are searching, even if it is not my line. Since some of you are just starting to search for your family line, keep it simple with the names, dates and places if possable. Then there are others of you folks that have a great deal, please post. We have to remember(myself too) that I have what I do have because of others takeing the time to share. As a gift to me, would some of plese help me. While I was litterally DOWN, some thought for the count, a GREAT deal of the information that I had gathered was LOST. Because of the damage to my mind, I have lost a lot of my short term memory, perhaps I should just say memory. I have tried to share everything that I have with this message board. If you by chance have anything that I have sent to you, would you PLEASE forward it back to me. Since the Campbells from the area of Richalnd, Wayne and surrounding cos.,of Ill., and of Russell Co.,Va.are my lines, I am particully interested in getting some of that information back. I have been asked to do tape recording of what I am able to remember, Would you please send me some idea of how to begin. Doing voice tapeing as a means of recording will be new for me. . Have any of you done it? Is there any guide lines? If you had a great grandmother who had the family history, what would you like to know first, etc. Should I try and do it as just factual or should I try and do it as a historical novel? Please send me feed back. Beth --------------------------------- Yahoo! FareChase - Search multiple travel sites in one click.

Mike, I don'tknow whatThompson line you areresearching. If possable, would you please tell ifthey are from Ky. I have had a brick wall on the Thompson family line it seems forever, We are searching forinformation in Ky. for a George W.Thompson whomarried Esther Thompson, The census records in Warrick Co., Ind.shows that they were born in Ky. There older children were born in Ky,. When Esther devorced George@ 1856, she statedthat Georgewasout of the area and that she had bought the home inWarrick Co., Ind. and paid for it by herself. Since I do not have my records before me, I am guessing that Geoerge was born @ 1800 to 1805 and that Esther was born in 1804. They were probably married around 1826 time frame. I do have the names and birth dates of their children and some of their grand children.if you are interested. I have a copy of Malcolm will. His father Archibald is my brick wall. Dottie
Good Morning Dottie, It is good to see you around. I don' t have anything new but go back and recheck what I posted so long ago. I know that there were Archibalds and Malcolms in all of that data. Dottie,if you have been reading my postings of late, you will know that most of my records are either still packed or were lost., therefore what ever I post now needsto be verified. For some reason I have the feeling that when we were posting a long time ago, that we were both somehow related to Abraham and Dorus Campbell. Was it a brother or a cousin of Abraham? Keep an eye open to see if there wasn't an Archiball that was related to John Campbell . Sure wish I could remember bettere or had my records. Hello Margie and others, My ancestor was Francis Wright, of Amherst Co VA. His son was Benjamin Wright, and his son was Moses Wright b. 1744 Albemarle Co VA d. 1830 Amherst Co VA. This Moses Wright, married Elizabeth Ann Whitehead, d/o John, m 11-1775 Amherst Co VA. They had a son Jesse Wright, who is my ancestor. They had another son named Benjamin Wright. He first married Nancy Campbell, d/o John, s/o George Campbell and Caty, of Amherst Co VA. This is the George and Caty 'clan' that you hear so much about on this mailing list, it is a huge descendant group. Benjamin next married Dicey Campbell, who was the cousin of Nancy. I do NOT have noted in my files the father of Dicey, I am sorry. But I am sure someone else, will reply with that name. I have noted that Carolyn White cjwhite46@aol.com is interested in the Moses Wright family, she might have more that I do. Moses Wright was a Rev. War Vet, his widow was awarded a Rev War Pension on his claim. Therefor, the DAR should have a file on him. Out of the list of 12 kids for Moses Wright, I have that 6 of them married CASH persons.
