INDENTUERED SERVENTS DID NOT have time enough After a days of Hard work to record MUCH CUZ AT Atlantic Crossings Were Dangerous In the Early Years arrowing were the experiences of people who risked their lives and property to cross the Atlantic Ocean from Europe to America during the Sixteenth to Eighteenth Centuries. The season for passage began in early May and ended in late October with each westerly voyage from England requiring at least seven to eight weeks with good tail winds, and often ten to twelve weeks if the winds were not favorable. A typical journey for refugees fleeing religious persecution in Europe or indentured servants contracting years of labor for the cost of passage would often begin in Rotterdam or Amsterdam and then proceed to England for supplies

    1. [Campbell] LISTS, PLEASE- I BELIEVE THIS WILL CIRCUMVENT MANY BRICK WALLS <CUZ AT>
    2. Are these Campbell descendants of our John or Patrick or was Alexander living in Essex in 1717 and John and Patrick his off springs? Any suggestions? Regards BH THIS IS GREAT ! Now lets take A look at the Fomation of the Counties in The TAPPAHONNOCK AREA Starting with Caroline County: Caroline 1729 Formed from ESSEX, King & Queen, & King William Counties <?> ESSEX 1692, Formed from OLD "Rappahannoc" County <Tappahannock> Old Rappahannock County no longer Exists. King & Queen 1691 Formed from New Kent County. Most records Destroyed 1864 in the civill War. KING & QUEEN> King William 1702 formed from KING & QUEEN County. Most records Destroyed in 1885 Whn a Member of the Lankford Family SET the King William Court House on FIRE KING William. For A fact A member Of my Late Brother in Law'S Family did set the KING William Court House on fire, That information is on line & in the Lankford Family BOOK. aAS Caroline county Came from So many counties IT Seems that a Close look at the Counties in this area & above ALL A thourg SEARCH of the Migrant inforation into Tappahannock is A MUST LOOK. NOT just our Campbell's But there are several of OUR Ancestrol Families LIVED in this AREA, I am ofthe OPINION that there is not enough attention given to OUR Connecting families, WHY? Just look at the GRAND MOTHER Elizabeth CATLETT Married to G, G, G, G, G, G, <BOSS JOSH> to Son G, Jesse Washington Campbell <MY LINE> I know that OUR RESEARCH stumbleswhen we forget OUR KIN FAMILIES because some OF the GRANNIES kept beter records that the Fathers Familes did, NO YA Think- well just Check CUZ Shirley Craft & Carrol Hite's Records Against any oneof the MALE;S information in OUR GROUP, AND I Will believe that OUR female ancestors Had A beter record than OLD Geroge, PLEASE CHECKit out it just so happened that way, giveing A REASON For NOT FORGETTING Our Affilated Families, ONE will never get the WHOLE Campbell story from JUST FROM THE CAMPBELL SIDE OF THE FAMILY. The all ways right mind set is anti FAMILY, WE NEED TO WORK TOGEATHER. CUZ AT <HOPEING>

    2. George T. H. Shaw
    3. Looking for documentation on Flora (Flory) Ann Colquhoun Campbell (c1803-bef.1886) who married married James Campbell (born bef.1803 & died bef.1841) to prove that she was the daughter of Henry Campbell (b. c1776, Scotland & died 1802 in Kilchoman) and his 2nd. spouse, Elizabeth Colquhoun (b.c1776-aft.1841). Her known siblings were ); her brother, Duncan Campbell and her sisters: Bell Campbell (1776-1802), and Anne (Campbell) McNeill (1777-1855). From Anne McNeill's death registration, I have learned that Anne McNeill's father was Henry Campbell; her mother - Elizabeth Colquhoun; Alexander Currie (M.D.) - her nephew-in-law; her brother - Duncan Campbell and husband was Hector McNeill. Any information appreciated. I am more than willing to share information that I have. Thank you in advance, George Shaw

Auburn is just 20 miles from where I live in Northern California! Just working on computer, I can't find whether or not this man had sons, but I'll follow up with this lead also. 1. [Campbell] VERY INTERSTING THIS IS FROM THE BOWERS FAMILY LIST CUZ AT
    2. There is a DNA test that women can take that can be useful for genealogy purposes, namely the Family Finder test at Family Tree DNA. It is an autosomal test that identifies strands of DNA from all your ancestors for about 5 generations back. If you have some matches that indicate a relationship, then you can compare ancestral surnames to see where it is likely you share a common ancestor. Note that the results are limited to the Family Finder database, which currently is much smaller than the yDNA database. Men can also take this test. For more on this test, see http://www.familytreedna.com/faq/answers.aspx?id=8#879 Another test that women (again, men can also take this test) can take is the mtDNA test, which tracks the mitochrondial DNA of your direct female lineage back forever. But since mitochrondial results only identify your ancient maternal "clan", they are not much help for most genealogy purposes. For more on this test, see http://www.familytreedna.com/faq/answers.aspx?id=8#507. These tests can be ordered through the Bowers DNA Project. However, since the focus of the project is yDNA, mtDNA and Family Finder results are not presented there. 1. [Campbell] I KNOW THAT CUZ BH DEBUNKS RE_READS BUT SOME THINGS SHHOW MOR
    2. THANKS LIST REGUARDLESS OF HOW SOME RESERCHERS THINK WE CAMPBELL DESCENDANTS DO HAVE MORE THAN ONE ANCESTRAIL FAMILY CUZ AT Thanks A.T. for this Ennis family information, it is all news to me, and I am sure it will help others to make some progress. Here is what I have to help identify these folks: #1. Henry Campbell b. 1706 Scotland, d. 1772 Amherst Co VA. This man lived in an area which is now called Nelson Co VA Married to Charity. Their son was Ambrose Campbell, who married Margaret. His wife's name is confirmed as Margaret by his Will. Ambrose was born 1740 in Scotland and died 1811. He was a Revolutionary War Vet. Therefor, it must be his daughter named Frances Campbell who married George Ennis. I would make a wild guess that it was her SISTER? who married George's brother?? Can anyone confirm this wild guess? Apparently, George Ennis and Frances Campbell had a daughter named Frances Ennis, and she married John Sale Campbell. I happen to know that John Sale Campbell was the son of Wiley Campbell and Elizabeth M. Sale. Wiley Campbell was son of Joel, s/o Henry and Charity. Therefore Ambrose and Joel Campbell were brothers, the grandson of Joel Campbell married the granddaughter of Ambrose Campbell. This family line involves the descendants of Henry Campbell and his wife Charity. This couple are immigrants from Scotland, as they were already married abroad. Best regards, Lilly Martin ----- Original
