    2. The will of Archibald CAMPBELL of Mecklenburg is dated 19 March 1782 and includes the names of James CAMPBELL, Rilly, Colin CAMPBELL, Donald, Duncan, John, Betty, Annie and George CAMPBELL. (If the surname CAMPBELL does not appear following a given name, it is shown like that in the will.) His wife Elizabeth is also named. George CAMPBELL is later named the youngest son and Betty is named as a daughter. Sons Colin and Duncan are also confirmed. A William ADAMS witnesses the will. 3. Colleen, My Campbells come from just north of Mecklenburg County. Can you give me the dates for these wills? I am particularly interested in Alexander, Archibald and James. My earliest known Campbell is John D. Campbell (1812-1890), and he lived most of his life in the part of Lincoln County, NC that became Catawba County in 1842. Thanks for your kind offer. 3. Has this site every had a master list of Campbell's and as new subscribers come on their ancestors would have their names added to the list? I for one can't keep the names straight - there are too many of us.
