Am looking for any info on Audley Campbell, born abt 1768 to 1770, probably in Augusta County Virginia, where he married in 1791 to Mary Elliott. Audley was the probably the son of George Campbell and Margaret ? Campbell. George Campbell died in April of 1777 in Amherst County Virginia. Margaret remarried John Henderson. Mary (Elliott) Campbell died about 1805/07 in Madison County Kentucky. Audley married second Hannah McSwain on April 1, 1811 in Madison County Kentucky. Audley and Mary (Elliott) had a daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" who married Benj/Bond Burnett, son of William Burnett, 1/3/1815 in Madison County. One of their sons, Jeremiah, was my ggg grandfather. have been searching for info on him and Bond for quite some time and have ran into dead ends!! Audley Campbell had 12 children to live between he and his two wives, Mary and Hannah. We know of Elizabeth "Betsy, who was from he & Mary (Elliott) Campbell. We know of David Campbell, who was from Hannah. There is also, Mary, Archibald, and Nancy, that I know of for sure, and know not much about the "rest" of the twelve. I do believe it is possible that they may have had, Margaret, John, Thomas, William, Sally, Elizabeth. These names appear on a land deed with Elizabeth "Betsy" and David Campbell. Am assuming that these are "possible" siblings, grandchildren of "Old" Audley Campbell. I have two land deed copies. One is dated October 1863, and the other September 23, 1865. I'm not quite sure how to "read" these, but on the first, 1863, there is only 21 names mentioned, one being my ggg grandmother and her second husband, John Hoskins. On the second, there are LOTS of names, Grandchildren are included on this one, I am sure, as my gg grandfather, Jeremiah Burnett and his siblings are included on it. Children of Elizabeth "Betsy"

Eastern Daylight Time Subj: [campbell_kids] George and Margaret Campbell Hello to all researchers, I am trying to find a male from George and Margaret to do the test. There is a man in Florida named: Audley George Campbell. How much would you bet he is a direct descendant? I found a Harry William Campbell b. 1932 Logan County, West Virginia. He is s/o Harry William b. 1908, s/o Harry William b. 1885, s/o Ota Hawkins b. 1843, s/o Jacob Hawk b. 1822, s/o Archibald b. 1763, s/o George and Margaret Campbell of Rockfish, Amherst Co VA. I don't know if Harry b. 1932 is still living, or had sons. This is a place to start. Perhaps he was in the Korean War, or even Vietnam, and has a military record online with ancestry.com ? (I don't have access to ancestry.com) Perhaps there is an obit for him online? I will look for further descendants who may be living to take the dna test. Both my sister and I have had benign cysts on various places on our bodies. I don't appear to be directly descended from AT's Granny Caty according to my DNA test so the cysts may be more widely found within the Campbell population. Jim Campbell Descended from John D. AT; No matter what we say about the activities that took place back in those early days we are speculating. We just don’t have the record to prove, or disapprove, any specific transaction. Let each individual pick their own dates based upon their own thinking. We certainly do not need to argue about it. You and I may think that if George and Caty moved to Albemarle county to live in say 1749 or earlier, leaving his property that he and Caty lived on in Caroline since their marriage about 1742 and then traveling no short distance in 1753 to sell his property to his brother in-law in Caroline County seems impractical to us.? Although George and his family would have been living in Albemarle county for about 20 years yet there is no foot print or any evidence that he or any of his sons were there. George Jr had been married 6 or 7 years when George bought his land in Amherst.!!! Let's drop the subject and work on finding a live male Campbell descending from George and Margaret.Regards BH -----Original Message----- From: Atpowelljr@aol.com Sent: Sunday, June 23, 2013 2:06 PM To: campbell_kids@yahoogroups.com Cc: campbell@rootsweb.com Subject: [Campbell] wondering CUZ BH stated that George Campbell did leave Caroline County in 1753 Which would make it imposiable for hisSon john to have been born in Albemarle in 1750 UUMM; WHO of the INFORMED CAN PROVE THIS WRONG. Joseph (middle initial possibly B. or P.) Campbell’s gravestone gives date of birth 20 Mar 1820. Census records agree. The 1850 and 1870 census records show he was born in Missouri but he was married in Stewart County, TN, on 18 Nov 1841 and is not known to have lived elsewhere until he died there on 16 July 1874. No known reason explains Joseph’s move from Missouri to Stewart County, TN.. Records show few Campbell families in Missouri before 1820, mainly along Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. Any help in narrowing the focus of my search would be very much appreciated. George
