Edward, The USGS township information listing for Monterey County lists a couple of townships in Soledad, Monterey County- (off the Monterey County Page at <http://www.compuology.com/cagenweb/montecty.htm> )- however, the USGS listing of cemetaries in Monterey County doesn't list any in Soledad. Using these two pages together, looking at Latitude and Longitude, it looks to me like Greenfield Cemetary in Greenfield, and Gonzales Cemetary in Palo Escrito Peak are the two closest cemetaries. It is very possible that the USGS listing does not contain all of the cemetaries in the county, but I find it a good place to start. (USGS home page http://mapping.usgs.gov/www/gnis/). I haven't spent much time with their website, but someone at the US GenWeb's Tombstone Project may be able to help (http://www.rootsweb.com/~cemetery/)- No one has signed up for Monterey County, but the California coordinators name is listed- she might be another lead. good luck- Joel Edward A.
