This has just been added to the Sanchez File. Encarnacion Ortega's daughter, Virginia Crane, married a man, Eugene Munch, when she was 13, then was beaten and abandoned in Europe, pregnant. Munch wrote a letter to her in 1878 which included this paragraph "Would to God I had married an Irish or any other kind of girl and lived happy, instead of marrying such a Mongrel mixture as you are."
