McAravy Ann R. McAravy, a former Cannery Row shopowner, died Monday in Panama City, Fla. She was 70. Born Feb. 15, 1919, in Tallulah Falls, Ga., she lived in Monterey County for 22 years, including 10 years in Salinas before moving to the Monterey Peninsula, where lived for 12 years. Mrs. McAravy owned a shop on Cannery Row and was a member of Cypress Community Church in Corral de Tierra. She is survived by her husband, George; three daughters, Patty Russell of Columbus, Ga., Karen Clapper of Redlands and Paula Jacobson of Pacific Grove; one son, Jeff Ortiz of Panama City, Fla., six brothers, Will Holbrook of Lake Wales, Fla., Bob Holbrook of Panama City, Fla., Furman Holbrook and Vern Holbrook, both of Clarksville, Ga., and Maurice Holbrook and Carl Holbrook, both of Buford, Ga., and seven grandchildren. Funeral arrangements are being handled in Panama City, Fla. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to cancer research. Monterey Peninsula Herald, Thursday, 12 October 1989
