Mary: Following are the obit and death certificate for William Johnson. It is interesting to note that he had a different wife, Mary Ferris Johnson, when he died. I will post the obit to the Monterey County obit board, and I can put it in the mail to you as well. Have you checked the Hollister paper for an obit? Since he was buried there, one might show up. The death certificate was difficult to make out, as the information was not entered on the lines correctly. This is particularly a problem in the space for number of years in the State. He had been a resident of Pacific Grove for the past 22 years and was well known in the town. A widow, Mrs. Mary Johnson, survives the dead man.
