Along with a listing of the table of contents for this book is the following notation: "In order to help genealogists, we have included a detailed index in the book. Those researching family histories will find the following names included (accents omitted)…" The book also includes an extensive collection of historic photographs. DISCLOSURE: I am a member of the Board of Directors of Monterey County Historical Society, a non-profit organization. I am also a fourth generation resident of Monterey County. Sales of the above named book will be used to finance the publication of additional county history books. The MCHS Publications Committee recognizes that "genealogists" are primarily interested in information regardng their particular ancestors.
