Hi Shirley, I don't know anything about the Bourgess family but D.W. POTTER was one of my collateral ancestors. His full name was David Willis Potter and he was my grandmother's cousin. D.W. was born near Salinas, CA and as an adult owned a blacksmith shop in San Lucas. D.W.'s son, Clyde, recently died at age 91. Hope this helps, Anita C. monterey County Shirley Rienecker wrote: > Posted on: Monterey County Queries > Board URL: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Ca/Monterey?read=277 > > Surname: Bourges, Dewlaney, Williams > ------------------------- > > Adelmer Dewlaney bought land (1/4 section #19 in township 20)from the Southern > Pacific RR in 1889 bordering the beginning of Wildhorse Canyon near San > Lucas.
