Friends, My great aunt Elaine CARTER (1907-1993) and her mother, (Marie) Louise RICE CARTER (1876-1945) lived in Carmel in the 1930's and 1940's, and perhaps as early as the late 20's. Elaine worked for the post office, and may have been postmistress there toward the end of that time. Elaine married George O'NEIL and they moved to Camas, WA, near Portland, OR, after some time in Chicago. I think Elaine may also have been a waitress in and around Carmel. She was a bright and interesting woman; I only got to know her in 1975. I would love to know more about them if there is anyone here who might know of them.
