Hi Dona, Last Sunday, on my return trip to Monterey County, I stopped at what is now known as the national historic landmark "Caledonia Adobe" in San Miguel. It is a beautiful and rare two-story adobe, built around 1846, and served for some time as a major north/south stagestop. San Miguel is just south of the Monterey/San Luis Obispo County line. What I found most fascinating was the many original photographs in the main first floor hallway of the adobe. My apologies for not taking digital photographs of all the photographs. My attention was focused on ROSA GIL FELIZ, sister of M.M. GIL RIOS. [I did take a number of digital detail photos of the adobe and surroundings before the camera's batteries died.] At the moment I do not have immediate access to the brochure about the "Caledonia Adobe" so that I can provide you with more specific contact information. I can however say that it has been lovingly and accurately restored. Unlike the still existing community of San Miguel, the only thing left of Jolon is the somewhat protected remains of the Jolon Hotel adobe. Hope this helps, Anita C.
