Eastside Journal, Bellevue, Washington January 15, 2000 p. A4 Barbara E. Mowbray Barbara E. Mowbray of Redmond died Jan. 12, 2000, at Evergreen Hospital. She was 74. Mrs. Mowbray was born April 10, 1925 in Salinas, Calif. She graduated from Salinas High School in 1943 and from the University of California at Berkeley in 1946. She had lived in Bellevue and Redmond for 44 years. She married John W. Mowbray on Dec. 2, 1948 in Hollister, Calif. She worked in both California and Washington as a radio writer and broadcaster from 1948-1976. She and her husband owned KASY in auburn, KAPY in Port Angeles and KQIM in Burien. Mrs. Mowbray was a member of the Well Mind Association in Seattle for 25 years. She was also a professional dog trainer associated with the Washington State Obedience Club of Seattle. She was interested in spinning and weaving and was an herbalist. In addition to her husband, she is survived by sons Todd W. Mowbray of Polson, Mont., Torin P. Mowbray of Newcastle, Baird D. Mowbray and Kevin S. Mowbray, both of Redmond; daughter Tanis Mowbray of Snoqualmie; and eight grandchildren. No service will be held. Remembrances may be made to a favorite charity. Bleitz of Bellevue Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
