    3. Hi Everyone, A friend is researching the history of an old homestead and small cemetery in Long Valley, located in southern Monterey County. The company that currently owns the land is planning to preserve the old farm house and cemetery. They are interested in contacting descendants of the old pioneer families that were living in Long Valley in the late 1800s. Long Valley is located along State Highway 198 that runs from San Lucas, Monterey County, to Coalinga in the San Joaquin Valley. The old homestead is 5-1/2 miles east of San Lucas on the north side of the highway. The plat description for the specific land is: T20S R9E, Sec. 36. The families known to have lived in this area are: The Fred and Helen [Eade] CARTER family The Andrew Jackson COPLEY family The Herman THOMPSON family The NATTRAS family The Wes EADE family The LOWE family The Sam HAMILTON family Any information on these or any other Long Valley pioneer families, as well as the hitory of Long Valley, would be greatly appreciated. [Every little bit of history we can save is definitely worth the effort.] Thank you, Anita C. Monterey County
