Mary: Following are the obit and death certificate for William Johnson. It is interesting to note that he had a different wife, Mary Ferris Johnson, when he died. I will post the obit to the Monterey County obit board, and I can put it in the mail to you as well. Have you checked the Hollister paper for an obit? Since he was buried there, one might show up. The death certificate was difficult to make out, as the information was not entered on the lines correctly. This is particularly a problem in the space for number of years in the State. Just a quick not to let you know that if any one of you are needing Millitary or pension files from the National archives, I might be able to help. I go into Washington DC once a week on business and I am quite familliar with the National Archives. I would be happy to get whatever anyone who is on this list needs. For pension files, complete with all pages (usually up to 50), nice copies (I make sure of this) $34.00. For millitary files complete $20.00. For revolutionary millitary files, $20.00, and for Rev. pension files $34.00. If you not sure if your ancestor has a file I will even search for you , check the file to see if the file exists, then you can place your order. I am usually pretty fast as I have been researching for the past 10 years and usually have you file for you in 10 days. Otherwise, the National Archives can take 2 months of longer for a response of which they often always short you on the number of pages they give you. Let me know if you want me to research anything for you. You may give me the names of the ancestors who you believe fought in the union or confederate army or even ther Rev. war and I will see if they have the files. In most cases a few or most them probably will. Let me know. Thanks. Jay Arnold --part1_8.7b37d13.269f55a7_boundary--

From what I can remember, my grandfather James B. Wimmer, living in Bradley, Monterey Co., in 1940 to about 1965, would always talk about the McGowans as would my Mother and aunt and uncles, but I as a child could not connect the families and could go no information. Now the family is gone. I am trying to get Our Family tree planted for my two Grandsons to be able to follow their family history.
Am seeking a copy of any newspaper clipping that reports on a wedding that took place in Monterey County, CA, on 23 July 1966.
