Jose de los Santos Boronda arrived in the area sometime between 1872 and 1883 bringing with him his family. His first wife was Iraniadel Rosario Castro; children Josephine, Allejandrino (Alley), Lino, Joe, Lucy, Jose, Maggie, and Arbues. His 2nd wife was Loretta (Robles) and their children are Edwardo, Santos N., Peter, Timothy, Manuela, Susie, Ben, and Julia. Jose de los Santos Boronda was the grandson of the original Monterey Boronda, Corporal Jose Manuel Boronda who came to CA in the 1780's. There is more information in this book on Pgs 18, 49, and 565.

Hi Dona, Last Sunday, on my return trip to Monterey County, I stopped at what is now known as the national historic landmark "Caledonia Adobe" in San Miguel. It is a beautiful and rare two-story adobe, built around 1846, and served for some time as a major north/south stagestop. San Miguel is just south of the Monterey/San Luis Obispo County line. What I found most fascinating was the many original photographs in the main first floor hallway of the adobe. My apologies for not taking digital photographs of all the photographs. My attention was focused on ROSA GIL FELIZ, sister of M.M. GIL RIOS. [I did take a number of digital detail photos of the adobe and surroundings before the camera's batteries died.] At the moment I do not have immediate access to the brochure about the "Caledonia Adobe" so that I can provide you with more specific contact information. I can however say that it has been lovingly and accurately restored. Unlike the still existing community of San Miguel, the only thing left of Jolon is the somewhat protected remains of the Jolon Hotel adobe. Hope this helps, Anita C. If they do have I would be looking for Abner Fancher and Rosa Sturzenegger and would have been married abt 1879. Rosa was born in Sonoma Co., so perhaps they could have been married there, we don't really know. I found quite be accident Warren's g-grandparents marriage in San Francisco, in our California State Library in Sacramento.
