    3. Herald and News – Klamath Falls, Oregon – April 17, 2007 Gerig, Oral A. "Sam" Oral A. "Sam" Gerig passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2007, after a prolonged illness. Oral was born on June 8, 1915, and was a lifelong resident and rancher in Bieber, Calif. He is survived by his wife of 69 years Gertrude Jackson Gerig, his daughter Vicky Gerig, son Robert and daughter-in-law Janell. He leaves good memories with five grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He was always a proud supporter of the community and had been a bank director for the Shasta County Bank for 20 years. He spent 10 years as a director for the FFA and was pleased to have been nominated as an honorary chapter farmer. He served as a fire commissioner in Bieber for 15 years, was a founding member of the Lookout Stock Association and a lifetime member of the Bieber Chamber of Commerce. All of his family would like to thank the Inter-Mountain Chapter of Hospice for their kindness and care that allowed Oral to finish his life in the home where he was born. Redding Record Searchlight – Redding, California – April 17, 2007 Cupp, Cecil Leroy McArthur ? Cecil Leroy Cupp passed away April 11, 2007 at Mayers Memorial Hospital Annex in Burney of cancer. He was 64 years old. Born to Clayton Howard (Bud) and Wilma Day Cupp in San Diego, California on May 6, 1942, Cecil was the oldest of three sons. He is preceded in death by mother Wilma, and brother Clayton. He is survived by father, Clayton (Bud), brother Jerry, daughter Wendy, two nieces, a nephew, three granddaughters, two great nieces, and a great nephew. Cecil graduated from Hayfork High School in 1960. He worked for the United States Forest Service in Hayfork until 1989, for five of those years he was a smoke jumper and fire fighter. He finished his career working in the Timber Department. Fourteen years ago Cecil moved to McArthur to be with family and worked running his lawn care and wood cutting business until his passing. Cecil's true love however, was Cupp's Leather Shop. He began his handmade leather work in 1968 and has sold his beautiful items all over the world. These items included: holsters, cases, saddle bags, horse tack, wallets, purses and any other special request item. He was truly gifted and found great joy in his work.
