Big Valley Gazette, Bieber, California - 21 August 1942 1;3* Norman L. Whitman of Adin Is Dead Norman L. Whitman who conducted a barber shop in Bieber and Adin in the last four years, died Monday in Alturas hospital. He had been ill for some months. Mr. Whitman formerly lived in Canada, Minnesota and Los Angeles vicinity. Near relatives surviving him are his wife, residing in Adin; a son Ernest by a previous marriage, living in Los Angeles; a daughter, Genevieve, formerly of Bieber, now married and living in Southern California; and three other sons-Reggie of Seattle, formerly of Bieber; Donald of Burney and Alfred who worked at barbering with his father in Bieber and Adin until he was called into the Army last month and is now in Texas.
