Emmaline Sarah Huskey Emmaline Sarah Huskey, 80, died Oct. 16, 2005, at Lake District Hospital in Lakeview. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church in Lakeview with the ladies auxiliary of the Layne Clifton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4070 participating. Interment will follow at Westside Cemetery in Lakeview. A potluck luncheon at the Eagles Lodge in Lakeview will follow the interment. Ousley Osterman Huffstutter Funeral Chapel, Lakeview, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Huskey was born Dec. 22, 1924, in Alturas to George E. and Phoebe Rachel (Coffer) Young. She was the third of their 12 children. Her younger years were spent in a lumber camp at Bray. She later lived in Bonanza, Bly and Lakeview, where her father continued working in the lumber industry. She attended school in Lakeview. On March 27, 1944, she married Charley Alvin Huskey in Alturas while he was serving in the Army. Soon after his discharge from military service, they made their home in Lakeview. In Lakeview, they constructed two homes and raised their five children. Mrs. Huskey, in her earlier years, was active in her church. She took pride in having helped in the planning and building of the Trinity Baptist Church and, for a number of years, taught summer Bible school to children, including her nieces and nephews. She also took pride in her community and the extensive amount of time she spent as a volunteer for various organizations. Much of her volunteer work was at the Lake County Senior Center. She was a past madam president and member of the grand auxiliary in the Fraternal Order of Eagles and served for several terms as president of the ladies auxiliary of the Layne Clifton Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 4070. In addition, she served as president and member of the Lake County Fair Association and its board of directors and the Lakeview Sanitation District. Her home was a gathering place for those who lived out of town and she showed continuing interest and support in the activities of the younger generations in her family. Among her survivors are her son, Howard of Bend; daughters, June Riley of Oakland, Md., Debbie Scharer of Kent, Wash., and Becky Horlacher of Yacolt, Wash.; brothers, Melvin, Jerome and Bert Young of Lakeview; sisters, Carmen Wilson of Ashland, Loretta Simpson of Medford and Bonnie Jelley of India; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Jeff Huskey; and four brothers. Memorial donations may be made to Lake County Senior Center, P.O.
