I did a search and found that the Merced County Genealogical Society has a book compiled by Betty Padilla called Merced County, California, Early Naturalization Records, 1861-1946. Can someone please see if there is a record of my great-grandfather`s naturalization and, if so, what information exists? William was born on August 4th, 1848, at McGuire`s Bridge, County Fermanaugh, Ireland, and I was always told that he came to America in 1888. If a record exists of his naturalization in 1884, then I must have been mis-informed. Thank you.
