Mon., August 28, 1978, page 20 Merle Crandell Funeral services are pending at Stratford Evans Merced Chapel foe Merle Ellsworth Crandell, 84, a Merced resident for six years who died Sunday in a local hospital following a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Plainsburg District Cemetery. A native of New York, Mr. Crandell was a member of United Methodist Church in Merced. He is survived by his wife, Florence; three daughters, Mrs. Barbara Wills of Le Grand, Mrs. Betty Holley of Ogden, Utah, and Mrs. Ahleen Chriswell of Solana Beach; a step-son, LeRoy Bellwood of Lemon Grove; 14 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
