Dec 15, 1976, page 22 Hubert Rowe Services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Mission Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn for Hubert Leon Rowe, 81, a lifelong Merced resident who died Tuesday in a local hospital. The Rev. Wayne Benson of Sierra Presbyterian Church will conduct services for Mr. Rowe, a retired mechanic who lived at 1951 Union Ave. Burial will be in Asphodel Cemetery. Born in the Sandy Mush area July 11, 1895, Mr. Rowe served in the Army during World War 1 and later worked 20 years at Castle Air Force Base before his retirement about 15 years ago. Harvey Rowe Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Harvey Edward Rowe, 79, who died at Mercy Hospital Saturday. Merced Elks Lodge 1240 will conduct the 2 p.m. services at Mission Chapel of Ivers and Alcorn. Burial will be in Haven Rest Cemetery. Mr. Rowe was born July 20, 1892 in Merced. A retired mechanic, he worked for Foremost Dairies and was a member of Elks Lodge 1240, the Kiwanis Club of Greater Merced and was vice commander of American Legion Post 83. He also served as engineer for the Kiwanis Kiddieland railroad in Applegate Park.
