My great-grandfather, John McCarthy, was one of the early settlers in Los Banos. His son, my grandfather, John D. McCarthy, married a Jennie Griffin in Madera County on Jan. 27 1897. Jennie was born in Ireland, according to their marriage record. She died around the turn of the century, and my grandfather remarried. Were your Griffins from that area?
