Friday, Nov 16, 1945 Ranch Worker Killed Sunday Near Dos Palos Y Harvey Everet Winslow, 30, a farm laborer employed on the Hammond ranch south of Dos Palos, was killed instantly last Sunday when he was struck by a car driven by Andrew S. Morris of Richmond on Highway 153 (152), two miles east of the Dos Palos Y. Morris told Highway Patrolman Neil Nicholsen that Winslow, in attempting to cross the highway, stepped in front of his machine. An investigation was made by Patrolman Nicholsen and Robert Johnson and Deputy Coroner Dale R. Northrop. Winslow was born on May 10, 1906, in Missouri and had been residing in Firebaugh for the past 30 days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Manda Winslow; five daughters, Mrs. De Woody of Chowchilla, Mrs. Fay Hensley of Stockton, Miss. Ruby Winslow of Arvin and Misses Linda and Carolyn Winslow of Chowchilla; two sons Thomas and Connley Winslow of Firebaugh. Funeral services were held in the Northrop chapel yesterday afternoon. Rev. Frasier of the Alamo Assemby of God church officiated at the services. Interment was in Dos Palso cemetery.
