He had been ill some time. Born in the Azores islands, he had come to this country at the age of 18, having resided in Sacramento and northern California until moving to the Central district here 12 years ago. FAGUNDES lived with the Antone BORGES family. Rosary services will be recited at the Hale funeral chapel at 8:30 p. m. Sunday. Requiem mass will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart church at 10 a. m. Monday; with Rev. Father D. B. O'RIODAN officiating. Burial will be in the Turlock cemetery.

She was born 11/15/1831 Fayette County, Pennsylvania died of typhoid fever 11/24/1882 French Camp, San Joaquin County, CA married 12/12/1852 French Camp, San Joaquin Cnty, CA. The Turner family had at least 10 children John Turner, James father, was the Captain of the Wagon Train. James is supposed to be buried near Merced. Anything else you can tell me I'd appreciate!

I searched the 1944-48 telephone directory for Merced & Atwater and the 1944-48 City Directory for Merced & Atwater with neg results. I checked the Merced death index and the CADeath index and wasn't able to find any Joseph in Merced Co. I did find a few Victor's on switchboard.com but no Joseph.
