MILLS Alva Richard Mills, 57, a resident of the Mendocino coast for the past 16 years passed away at his home October 30th. He was born in Ohio and resided in Lova, Texas, prior to coming to California. He had worked as a truck driver and mechanic and at the time of his death was a clock-smith. He leaves to survive him: a daughter, Debra Sue Jones of Mesa, Arizona; his father, Clarence Mills; and two brothers and four sisters, all in Ohio. Funeral services and interment were scheduled to be held at Galena, Ohio. Local arrangements ere under the direction of the Cain-Grove and Haverfield Funeral Home. California Death Index 1940-1997: Mills, Alva R. – born June 13, 1916 in Ohio & died October 30, 1973 in Mendocino County, Calif. – age 57 yrs. Daughter Debra Sue Mills married 2) Michael J. Wolf. Alva R. Mills was son of Clarence W. & Estella L. Mills and in the 1930 census they were living in Franklin Co., Blendon twp., Ohio state. In the 1920 census Clarence W. & wife Stella L. with children Ruth & Alva were living in Ashtabula Co., New Lyme twp., Ohio state.
