He was 53. Born Dec. 9, 1946 in Reno, Nev., Mr. Baber lived in this community for 37 years. He was a truck driver for 30 years and most recently, was a self-employed driver working for Shuster's. Driving for Shuster's was a job he very much enjoyed. Mr. Baber is survived by his wife Kathy French Baber of Willits. He also is survived by stepsons David Crothers and Dan Crothers, both of Willits; stepson Dean Crothers of Windsor; grandson Randy Crothers of Willits; step-granddaughters Michelle Crothers, Chrissy Crothers and Tami Crothers, all of Willits; and step-granddaughters Kimberly Crothers and Stephanie Crothers, both of Windsor. Survivors also include six other grandchildren. A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, 1999, at Anker-Lucier Mortuary, 95 W. Commercial St., Willits. He was self-employed as a truck driver, most recently for Shuster's, a job he enjoyed very much.
