Bundy was killed on the Dos Rios road September 26. He was driving a truck and met an Indian in a wagon. The Indian's team got frightened and backed up, running the rear wheels across the road, and leaving a very narrow space to get by. Bundy attempted to pass, but watched the wagon instead of his own car and got too close to the bank. The bank gave way and the car went over the grade. He was instantly killed it is supposed. The Indian did not go to see. Bundy was dead when first assistance came. Deceased came to Covelo August 1. He drove the freight truck for G. M. Biggar, and was on duty when killed. He served in the army three months during the late war. He held a perfect military record. He was given a military funeral by the American Legion. He was a fine built young man with a clean, noble character and had made many friends while here. During the services the government airplane dropped flowers on the grave. The relatives have the sympathy of the community in their bereavement.
