Anker Mortuary at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Thursday) for Florence Ella Willits, member of a longtime prominent family of this city, who passed away at her home Sunday on Wood Street. Rev. George Fletcher will officiate and interment will take place in Little Lake Cemetery. The longtime resident was found dead at her residence by neighbors on Monday morning after friends reported they had not seen her for a day or so. Mrs. Willits, whose family was familiarly linked with the city in pioneer days, apparently suffered a heart attack and expired shortly after she arose Sunday morning, authorities said. She was 85. Her husband, George Willits, who was a descendant of the family for which "Willitsville" was first named, passed away here several years ago. The city was originally named after his uncle, Hiram Willits, who at one time owned most of the land in the northern part of Willits and his holdings extended out into the valley. When the railroad came here his widow disposed of the large holdings for $13,000. Survivors include a sister, Frances Tuck, who at nearly 95 is Willits' oldest living pioneer, and a sister, August Cook, of Oakland; a brother, Theodore Fulwider of Sebastopol; and a foster-son, Lloyd Hennington of Castro Valley.
