A. Montgomery On Monday Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock for John A. Montgomery, who passed away in Ukiah on February 12. Mr. Montgomery was another of Mendocino county's many residents who came west in the ox-cart days of '59. His early life was passed in this county. For 31 years he was a Wells Fargo messenger and guard and in the early days his brother, Buck, was a victim of the guns of the Ruggles brothers, Surviving relatives are his brother Tom of Hayfork, Trinity county, Mrs. M. J. Leeper, a sister, Oakland, and Mrs. A, M. Barbee, a sister, Berkeley. There were several nephews and nieces. Funeral services were in charge of the Ormsbee Chapel with Wesley Tottingham, pastor of the Christian church, officiating. Mrs. Gladys Richey was organist.
