Anderson Thomas of Piedmont, a native Ukiahan, who died Wednesday evening after a lingering illness, will be laid to rest in Ukiah Cemetery during services conducted at 2:30 p.m. Saturday by Rev. Ralph Fellersen of Ukiah Methodist church, under the direction of the Brown Mortuary of Oakland. Deceased was the son of an early-day Mendocino county assessor, M. A. Thomas. He was educated here, graduating from Ukiah high school before studying law at Stanford University from which he was graduated. For 50 years he maintained his law offices in the Humboldt Bank building in San Francisco. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Paul's Episcopal church, Oakland. Immediate relatives surviving the deceased are his wife, Carmel Thomas of the home address; two daughters, Mrs. Wakefield Taylor of Martinez and Mrs. Robert Scott of Oxnard, a son, Robert Anderson Thomas of San Francisco, three sisters, Mrs. Frank Johnson of Ukiah, Mrs. Fred Todd of Oxnard and Miss Ruth Thomas of San Francisco; also six grandchildren in Oxnard and Martinez and an uncle, J. G. Thomas of Vacaville. He was a brother of the late Dr. Robberd Thomas and a nephew of the late W. P. and J. R. Thomas, all of Ukiah.
