Born in Vallejo, Ca., she spent her childhood on the Hood Canal, Wash., graduating from Shelton High School in Shelton, Wash. She met and married her husband, Paul Pittman, in Olympia; Wash. The couple celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this month. The family returned to California and resided in the Willits/Ukiah area the past 42 years. Jessie worked as a licensed vocational nurse in the Talmage hospital and several local rest homes for 20 years prior to her retirement. She will be remembered as a wife, mother and grandmother who lovingly cared for her family. She is survived by her husband, Paul Pittman of Ukiah; five children and their spouses Ellen and Rocky McBride of Willits, Alice and Otto Timm of Oruk, Paul D. Pittman of Ukiah, Miki and John Pittman of McKinleyville, and Terry and Ida Pittman of Willits, 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She is also survived by a step-mother, Margaret Conklin of Bremerton, Wash., Wynona Meyer of Yucaipa, Calif., Dorothy Shelafoe of Kent, Wash., Gladys Willis of Eatonville, Wash., Wilma Gurley of Olalla, Wash., and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to attend graveside services Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the chapel at the Russian River District cemetery in Ukiah. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons, Carey and Larry Timm, Glenn McBride, Danny Pittman, Jon Pittman and Terry Pittman Jr. Arrangements are under the direction of Eversole Mortuary, where friends may call until 9 p.m. today and between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Ukiah hospice.
