He died Monday, June 20, 1994 at Valley View Skilled Nursing Center of natural causes. Pittman was born April 9, 1914 in Sacramento. He lived in the Ukiah area for 70 years and was a logger most of his life, though a jack-of-all-trades. Survivors include his three daughters, Alice Timm of Orick, and Ellen McBride and Terry Pittman of Willits; sons, Paul D. Pittman of Ukiah, and Michael Pittman of Redding; three sisters, Margarete Gowan, Blanch Bledsoe, and Edna Summers of Sacramento; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at Eversole Mortuary. Burial will be at Ukiah cemetery. Eversole Mortuary is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made to a favorite church or charity.
