Dispatch Democrat Ukiah, Mendocino Co., CA Saturday, August 4, 1928 REDWOOD VALLEY Joe Pilarek died at his home Saturday afternoon. He had been bedfast for about two months. Some two years ago he suffered a fractured back and has never recovered, though until two months ago he was able to walk around the place. Mr. Pilarek came here nearly 20 years ago, purchasing one of the first tracts of the old Silberhorn place after it was subdivided and placed on the market by J. A. Waldteufel. He was a tailor by trade, and made many suits for Ukiah and Talmage people, doing beautiful work. While he was a man of strong prejudices, he was scrupulously honest, always doing the right as he saw it. During his long illness he remained remarkably cheerful, and was very grateful for every small favor rendered. He leaves a son, Edwin, in Spokane, Wash., and other children in Denver, Colorado. His daughter-in-law, Mrs. E. Pilarek, of Spokane, Wash., was here for the funeral. Her husband was recently injured in an accident and was not strong enough to make the trip. The funeral was held Thursday morning. Mendocino County Indexes http://www.pacificsites.net/~pcarna Mendocino County Tombstone Photos http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~mendocem/
