There is no obit for him in the Ukiah newspapers. He is not listed in the California Death Index. I did find a listing for him in the Social security Master Death Index. Name: Raymond Edmondson SSN: 565-01-5523 Born: 11 Jan 1911 Died: Oct 1968 State (Year) SSN issued: California (Before 1951 ) His tombstone is at the Ukiah Cemetery in the Stanley plot. I checked for a record at Eversole Mortuary and there is none. I cannot check with the county for a burial permit, because they throw them away after a year. I can't find out where he died or who his next of kin were. If anyone knows this individual, or has any documentation about him, please contact me either through this list or directly. Born in Gila, Mo., Mr. Hilderbrand had worked as a machinist most of his life, and came to Willits in 1943. He worked for Harwood Products for 28 years, and was a member of the Machinist and Carpenters Union. That he married a Elizabeth Ledford, Nov. 12th. 1861, they moved to the Woodland area, thier first son Charles was born. He purchased a ranch from Mr. York and later called Yorkville. Abt. 1867. If you would like this artical, let me know.

Information about this family can be found at the Held-Poage Research Library, 603 W. Perkins St., Ukiah, CA 95482. They have a number of LARGE files compiled on the Montgomery family. If you write to them address your letter to the attention of June McCloud. She is the one who compiled the files and is most familiar with the family. I have some information in my files, but most of it relates to the connection to the Gibsons. I spent many weeks entering data about the Gibson family. Even though I don't have all the Montgomery family information I can probably help you if you need to find anything. Covelo, October 3.--Robert Atkinson, an old resident of this place, died on the 26th ult from cancer, which made its appearance on his upper lip some time ago. The deceased was born in Scotland 84 years ago. He came to America with his parents when quite young. They first settled in New Jersey. Leaving there, Uncle Bob (the name by which he was usually known) went to Indiana. He left Indiana in 1853 and came to California. He lived in the mining parts of the state until 1865, when he came to Round valley with his family, which at that time consisted of wife, one son and one daughter. All of them survive him. It is truly said that no needy person was ever turned away from his door without having their wants supplied. Hello List- seeking research help on the family of Zachariah Hopper. this family was located in little lake( Mendocino county in 1920) one of his children name was Roy P and he also had a daughter name Clara, could have had more children. I am seeking information on Zachariah, when he was born and where he died( could he have died in Mendocino county. prior to 1950 ?? I dont know what his wives name was but perhaps the maiden last name was Mc laughlin. Hi- Would anyone know of a source for sawmill accidents in Mendocino County? Lillian (Smith) Thenn Thomas was born in Missouri in the 1870s and married William Thenn ca 1895 in CA, possibly in San Francisco. They had a son Bert R. b ca 1896, re the 1900 San Francisco census. Thenn died and she married ? Thomas (first name unknown). I haven't found her in the 1910 census, but her son Bert, now known as M. Bert R. Thomas is listed in the 1920 Mendocino Co. Directory as M. B. R. Thomas, along with Samuel W. Thomas and wife Myrtle. Family story says ? Thomas died in a sawmill accident, probably in Mencocino Co. and is possibly buried in San Francisco. ? Thomas and Lillian were possibly married in San Francisco, and he adopted Bert R. In i920 Lillian is residing Oakland, Alameda Co. and is a widow. In 1915, she is listed in a city directory in San Francisco as a widow, and I think she may be the widow of ? Thomas. Any help on this would be wonderful!
