B. Willis, after only a few days' illness. His health had not been good for a few years, but was not thought serious until the last days. Mr. Burke was a member of the Burke family, who were early settlers in Ukiah valley and spent a great part of his life at the Burke home on Robinson Creek in the former valley. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. A. B. Willis, Mrs. Ed. Kehoe and Mrs. B. J. Adams. The funeral services were held in the Christian church and the remains laid to rest in the Boonville cemetery. Frank Burke, brother of deceased, and G. C. and W. P. Burke, nephews all of Ukiah, attended the funeral.

Hartley, after an illness extending over a period of fifteen years, passed away Sunday evening. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Woodliff, pastor of the M.E. church South, on Tuesday morning. He leaves a wife and four daughters, Mrs. S. L. Fields of Covelo, and Miss Ada, Frankie and Edna, at home. After the services at the home the body was taken to the Philo cemetery and laid to rest beside a little son. Mr. Hartley was born in Virginia fifty-nine years ago and has lived in this valley for thirty years.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Irish of Anderson Valley. Her father had one of the first sawmills in that valley and one of the first and largest hop fields. Funeral services for Mrs. Hartly were held at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon, November 5, from the Eversole Mortuary. Interment was in the family plot in the Boonville cemetery. Mrs. Hartly was 81 years old on her last birthday, April 22. She had been in ill health six months at the home her daughter, Mrs. Birdie Field, and children, shared with her. For many years she had been an active worker in the Boonville Methodist church, serving as president of the missionary society for a number of years. The new minister, the Rev. Mobley of the Boonville Methodist church, and the Rev. Glenn Akers of the Boonville Pentecostal church, a friend, officiated at her funeral service. Besides Mrs. Birdie Field, daughters surviving Mrs. Hartly are Mrs. Edna Witherell of Vallejo, Mrs. Nellie Bowen Slater of Los Angeles and Miss Ada Hartly of Boonville. All but Mrs. Slater were able to come to Ukiah. Two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Prather of Cloverdale and Mrs. Ida Ornbaun of Yorkville, and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. Her husband, Fred Hartly, woodsman, passed away about 1916. Ukiah Republican Press Ukiah, Mendocino Co., CA Wednesday, November 11, 1942 Mrs. Hartly Buried. Funeral services were held in the Boonville Methodist church Thursday for Mrs. Nellie Irish Hartly, 81, who passed away Tuesday morning after a long illness. The services were conducted by Rev. B. H. Mobley, assisted by Rev. G. D. Akers. Mrs. D. V. Presley and Mrs. L. N. Campbell sang "Sweet Hour of Prayer" and Rev. Akers contributed "Haven of Rest." There were many beautiful floral offerings and the services were attended by a large gathering of sorrowing friends and neighbors. Pallbearers were Edwin Hogan, J. T. Farrer, J. L. Bivans, I. C. Burke, H. J. June and Max Rawles. Mrs. Hartley was born at Malpos, near Manchester, April 22, 1861, and came to this valley and has made this her home since that time. She is survived by four daughters--Mrs. Birdie M. Field and Miss Ada Hartly of Boonville, Mrs. Edna Witherell of Vallejo, and Mrs. Nellie Frances Slater, of Los Angeles; four grandchildren--Sergeant Pomeroy S. Field, of the U. S. Army, Percy Field of Vallejo, Clair Field, ! of San Francisco, and Mrs. J. H. Fuller, of New York; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters--Mrs. J. L. Prather and Mrs. Ida Ornbaun. The sympathy of the community is extended the bereaved family.

The service will be officiated by Ken Hewitt. Mrs. Cannon was born April 9, 1911 in Arkansas. She had been a Ukiah resident for the past 30 years and a California resident for 45 years. She was a retired paper hanger. She is survived by her children Mary Kennedy of Willits, Lee O. Bryant of Fort Bragg, Marvin E. Cannon and John Cannon both of Redwood Valley, Julia Wood and Gail D. Cannon both of Ukiah, Jennie Brashear of Chico, Dale G. Cannon of Merced, and Terry W. Cannon of Livermore. She is also survived by stepsons, Paul Cannon of Oregon and David T. Cannon of Arkansas; her sister, Ruth Wakefield of Arkansas; her brother, Horace E. Collier of Florida; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cannon's husband, Marvin, died in 1974. The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3033 Cleveland Ave., Suite No. 140 C, Santa Rosa, 95403, or a favorite charity preferred by the family. Arrangements are under the direction of the Eversole Mortuary.

A funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m., Thursday, at the Ukiah Cemetery, with Bishop Darwin Richardson officiating. Inurnment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at Eversole Mortuary. Mrs. Longberg was born July 15, 1919 in Corning, Kan. She had lived in California for the past 50 years, residing 34 of those years in the community. A housewife and mother, Mrs. Longberg was a member of the Ukiah Senior Citizens. She is survived by her children, Marv Longberg of Redwood Valley, Donna Longberg of Lucerne and Sandra Bristow of Sacramento; a sister, Susan Brunor of Missouri; and seven grandchildren. Her husband, Ralph W. Longberg, died in 1962. The family prefers donations to the Ukiah Senior Center.

It would seem that the first step would be to get ahold of his birth certificate and then to perhaps look for a fellow named Johnson. They had so many kids I can not remember but Fay, was the oldest, Edith, Emma (still alive and lives in Arizona), Martin, Seymour (sp), Estella, Florence, Donald, (lives in Kettle Falls, Wa), Forrest. Martin Sr. passed on due to I think a war related illiness (not sure), and just prior to passing they had a little boy named Richard who died when he was about 3. Lillian, then married a man named Drew Loveall and they had a daughter named Lillian who is named Potter and lives in the Kettle Falls area in Washington State. I know the above because I married to Estella Brush in 1951 when Drew and Lillian lived in Redwood Valley. I might note that Estella and I have been divorced since 1969. Estella remains unmarried and lives in Santa Rosa, ca. near our children and grandchildren. Hope this info helps. Earl Haas Washington State
