Hi, Mike.... You are correct. It is near the Green Mountain area of Mariposa County generally speaking. It is in the White Rock district on White Rock Road between Mariposa and Le Grand traveling southwest. Le Grand is in Merced County. There is a Lewis School (one room school) which is still standing. It is about 1/4 mile off of White Rock Road on the Pocahontas Mine Road. On the west side of White Rock Road is the LEWIS Cemetery where ORMs, BENNETTs and Eli GANN are buried. Also on the west side of the road is the Jake LEWIS house. It has a rock corral.
