    3. Henry Ford and Thomas Edison condemned cigarettes and their users in a book entitled The Case against the Little White Slaver. In the book, Edison wrote that cigarettes produce "degeneration of the cells of the brain, which is quite rapid among boys. Unlike most narcotics this degeneration is permanent and uncontrollable.
