Below is a description of a book selling on Ebay. C. Gregory Crampton did an excellent job editing Eccleston's diary when he was in Mariposa County. I have a copy of this book and it is one of my favorites on the discovery of the Yosemite Valley. The current bid is $21.00. I think this book is sold by our local History Center, however, I don't know for how much. After checking some of the antiquarian book searches on the net, this seems to be a reasonable price. http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=466264306 "The Mariposa Indian War 1850-1851" - Diaries of Robert Eccleston: The California Gold Rush, Yosemite, and the High Sierra - Univ. of Utah Pres, Copyright 1957, Reprint Edition 1975. Unread and mint condition, this fine book is a wonderful history of California's greatest times highlighting the California Gold Rush and discovery of our most beautiful National Park, as well as the history of the indigenous peoples of the area.
