    2. That is very interesting information, Carolyn! How far back do the death certificates go? My "Minnie North Star Goff" would be the same generation as Capt Dick and Mary Williams. She was born sometime in the 1840s or early '50s, as her first child was born 1866. According to Frank Goff's "Declaration of Homestead," his wife and 9 children were living with him in 1896. Would it be possible to find a death certificate for "Minnie Goff" or "North Star" in the time period 1896 to 1910 or so? Were death certificates filed even when the person was buried on family property?
