Nancy, These are all the AUTRANDS buried in Madera Cemetery District prior to 1960 when you figure Carmine AUTRAND died. She is not listed in the California Death Index as having died in California. I think she either moved out of California or perhaps changed her last name. Could she have remarried? I could find no death information on her son from her first marriage. Have you checked Joseph's death certificate for information it might contain? My only other suggestion is that you write to JAY'S CHAPEL, 1121 Roberts Avenue, Madera, CA 93637. They have been in business here since 1893 and might be able to dig out some information that is not recorded elsewhere. Sorry I couldn't find anything more for you. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. It has helped fill in some blanks and made my head spin on other things. Is this information exactly as the census was written? I did not know that Carmen had another son but did know that she had been married before. Have you been able to find any death records for her. I found that Joseph had died in Southern California while living with my grandfather Anthony but it looks like Carmen just up and disappeared. I really think she passed somewhere between 1930 and 1933. I've been told that my grandparents looked after Joseph from about February 1934 until his death in July 1935. Can you think of anywhere I can look for her records. I thought she passed in Sacrament or Yolo counties but no records could be found. My cousin thought she may have passed in Madera as that is where they lived before Joseph moved to Southern California. I'm sorry this is so long but I'm soooooooooooooo confused right now. Again thank you for your help in located the census information. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. Sincerely, Nancy Autrand-De Jesus
