Hi, Mel! Good to hear from you (and your lists)! A thought about the hospital records -- anyone listed as born in California prior to 1850 is very likely Indian or Mexican so possibly of interest to Sharon and to my family. You did some searching for me before -- but if you happen to come across anyone named GOFF, NORTH STAR, BURNETT, HANSEN, WILSON, JOHNSON, SIMPSON, OLLRICH or CHIOTTI, those are all names in my Mariposa family and all of Indian descent (except for BURNETT and Frank S. GOFF , our Scottish-English gold miners who married Indian women). Thanks for all you do -- Joan in San Jose ========================================= In a message dated 11/7/01 1:50:26 PM Pacific Standard Time, clankelley1@earthlink.net writes: <snip>> > Regarding the hospital records. > There are no notes of Native Americans. > When a colored man or china man was admitted, that is noted beside his name, > other than that, there is just a country or state of birth. > > Mel > >
