Here is what is said in _Memories of Coulterville_ by Ila GOSS BARRETT page 26- a picture of the old church and this: The Catholic church was built by Reverend L. A. AUGER, it was dedicated January 20, 1863 by Archbishop ALEMANY. At that time it was a mission in the Mariposa-Sonora parish, Father AUGER was the first Pastor, Father KEARNEY was the last pastor.
