    3. Carolyn- This is very interesting. Roy JASTRAM was an only child, but his father William JASTRAM had a younger brother Gert Gustive JASTRAM (b. 1895 in Wisconsin, d. 1967 in Fresno). I never knew him or his family, but his wife was Mildred E. JASTRAM according to his dct., and I believe they had children. These might be my cousins! Gert JASTRAM's dct. says Gert was 52 years in California and 18 years in the county of death (Fresno), so he could very well have been with his brother during the early period. That's very helpful. I did not know about the book, and appreciate the reference. My memory is of the school being Mariposa High (and something about a play my father was in), but he might have attended other schools in the area, too. I don't yet know when the family moved from Fresno County to Mariposa County, but I recall visiting my grandparents at "the quarry" and an office building as a child.
